Superiority
SilClar is synthetic amorphous silica dioxide (SiO2). It has high adsorption capacity for soaps, phospholipids and trace metals, which can be used as refining and bleaching aid in both caustic and physical edible oil refining processes to eliminate water wash process or reduce usage of bleaching earth. SilClar helps to reduce cost and simplifies the entire refining process while minimizing the overall impact on the environment.
SilClar can also be used as a “post-bleach” adsorptive agent for removal of colloidal nickel and nickel soaps generated during hydrogenation.

SilClar® Silica for Edible Oil Refining
SilClar is synthetic amorphous silica dioxide (SiO2). It has high adsorption capacity for soaps, phospholipids and trace metals, which can be used as refining and bleaching aid in both caustic and physical edible oil refining processes to eliminate water wash process or reduce usage of bleaching earth. SilClar helps to reduce cost and simplifies the entire refining process while minimizing the overall impact on the environment.
SilClar can also be used as a “post-bleach” adsorptive agent for removal of colloidal nickel and nickel soaps generated during hydrogenation.
It should be stored in a dry warehouse away from strong odors. It is packed in 30kg bag, 30 bags per pallet.
SilClar is a non-crystalline silica gel adsorbent. It meets the requirements of the FDA for food applications. Typical values of Silclar are as below:
